Man dies while ice fishing

An ice fisherman from the central Iowa town of Brooklyn died after he fell through the thin ice of a farm pond yesterday afternoon in Poweshiek County. He’s identified as 87-year-old Charley Arens. An autopsy will be performed today by the state medical examiner. It took about four hours for dive crews and rescue teams to find the body.
