Alford takes blame for downslide

The Iowa Hawkeyes will try to rebound from a humiliating loss at Indiana when they host Minnesota on Saturday. Iowa coach Steve Alford says the Hawkeyes are in a position every team finds itself in when not meeting pre-season expectations.Alford has placed much of the blame on himself but says it is not the fault of the system they use.Alford says criticism of his coaching has never bothered him and just goes with the territory.The Hawkeyes take a 4-6 Big Ten mark into Saturday’s game against Minnesota.
