A northeastern Iowa high school student is dead from a fast-moving disease. 16-year-old Pam Storbeck was a cheerleader at Central Community High School in Elkader. She cheered at the school’s district wrestling tournament Saturday. School officials says Storbeck got sick Sunday and died Tuesday from bacterial meningitis at University Hospitals in Iowa City. Antibiotics will be given to people who came in close contact with her.
