Abandoned package sparks C.R. airport security alert

A suspicious package found this morning at the airport in Cedar Rapids turned out to be a hoax. Some travelers got a short, unexpected delay this morning after authorities found a package in the men’s bathroom that officials say turned out to be a prank. Ironically, emergency response specialists from around the country started mock drills at the Eastern Iowa airport yesterday in the first-ever Mass Fatalities Training Institute. Wednesday’s lesson: an explosion scenario.
