A state legislator’s in a Des Moines hospital after suffering a stroke. Forty-four-year-old State Representative Russell Teig of Jewell suffered a stroke late last night. During the legislative session, Teig lives in Des Moines and one of his housemates, Representative Gregory Hoversten of Sioux City, is a doctor. At about 11 o’clock last night, Hoversten noticed Teig was showing the symptoms of a stroke, and he called for an ambulance. Teig’s listed in stable condition at a Des Moines hospital. Hoversten, who’s an emergency room doc, is one of two medical doctors serving in the Iowa Legislature.
