Report says state could save with renewable energy

A new study finds Iowans would save big bucks if 20 percent of the energy supply is “renewable” energy like wind and solar. Justin Hoest of the Iowa Public Interest Research Group says renewable fuels are safe, clean, and affordable.Hoest says over the next two decades, Iowans would save over a hundred million dollars on their energy bills if 20 percent of electricity is from renewable sources.The Iowa Renewable Energy Association and the Union of Concerned Scientists released the study at mid-day.
