Crestland Coop employees get "pink slips"

February 22, 2002 By admin

Pink slips were handed out to the 150 or so workers at Crestland Co-op today. Paul Eckhoff, CEO of the bankrupt cooperative, says they’re required to notify workers, and the actual termination won’t happen till after the assets are auctioned off next month. Most will keep their jobs through mid-March. Separate auction dates have been set for rolling stock, the co-op locations, and houses and other assets owned by the co-op.Area farmers and investors are working to put together a group to buy the cooperative, which is the largest in the region.
