New exhibit puts fans on wrestling mat

February 22, 2002 By admin

High school wrestling fans will have a chance to take part in an interactive exhibit beginning with the 2005 tournament. The exhibit will be part of the Iowa Hall of Pride which will be located in the new Iowa Events Center. Jack Lashier of the Iowa High School Athletic Association says fans will be able to put on the stripes and officiate a match.Lazier says the exhibit will also test your knowledge of the sport as they show wrestlers doing different holds and takedowns and fans can touch the screen and identify the holds.Lazier expects the exhibit to be a hit with the large crowds that take in the tournament each year. The Iowa Events Center is scheduled to open in the summer of 2004.
