The trial of a Texas man has begun in the death of a Newton native. Michele Robson was found dead in 1998 in her apartment in Killeen, Texas with four gunshot wounds to the head. Investigators say Robson was found in a bathtub with her hands tied behind her back. Robson was a medic at the 21st Combat Hospital at nearby Fort Hood. Dennard Mans is on trial, charged with capital murder in Robson’s death. Tuesday two Iowa jewelers testified that rings found in Manns’ possession had been purchased for Robson by her mother in Iowa. Prosecutors are seeking the death penalty in the case.
