Eldridge building burns

Firefighters are battling flames and very cold temperatures this morning in eastern Iowa.Firefighters from Eldridge and several neighboring departments are at the scene of a fire and explosion in that Scott County community. The call came in about 8:30 for an explosion in a maintenance building next to the school bus garage. Firefighters put in calls for help in fighting the resulting fire from other communities, including Davenport, shortly after arriving at the scene. No word yet on a cause or injuries.
