New video tells kids about paying child support

March 4, 2002 By admin

Iowa’s Attorney General has introduced a new video aimed at educating teens who have kids. The video is called “Parenting, it’s a Life” and talks about the importance of paying child support and staying involved in a child’s life even if you don’t have custody of that child. Attorney General Tom Miller says the video was developed in conjunction with the Department of Human Services. It’s designed to be used in schools for students from grade 7th to high school. Miller says the video can act as an educational tool, and maybe as a deterrent to teenage pregnancy.Miller says there were some 27-hundred children born to unmarried parents in Iowa last year.
