If you’re trying to get a flight for Spring Break, good luck

March 12, 2002 By admin

Planning a getaway for spring break or Easter? Fort Dodge airport director Rhonda Chambers says you’ll probably have some trouble if you haven’t already made your flight reservations. Chambers says things have been slow in regional air traffic as after September 11th, travel fell off and didn’t recover like traffic will after a strike, so travel’s on the rise but slowly. Passengers may not have returned entirely, but the strong spring demand makes Chambers expect a good summer for air travel. She says even over the winter holidays people didn’t travel but they’re ready now and she sees a strong summer for air travel out of Fort Dodge. Chambers says airports large and small are suffering from funding problems but a return of the traveling public and the economic recovery will help in the long run.
