The problems that plagued the Iowa Hawkeyes during a disappointing season led to their demise last night in the opening round of the N-I-T. Turnovers and mistakes saw the Hawks squander two eight point second half leads in a 63-61 loss to LSU. Iowa committed 18-turnovers in the game, and coach Steve Alford says they didn’t make enough smart decisions when they needed to.Alford says it was bad year and they took a step backward and got slapped in the face pretty good. Alford says he hopes the young players come back and understand how hard it is to be good at this level.
