Waterloo man charged in alleged assault of wife

A 31-year-old Waterloo man is charged with two counts of attempted murder and domestic abuse assault after an incident this morning. David Norris allegedly assaulted his wife in the parking lot of I-B-P in Waterloo about 1 A-M, and fled before police arrived. Police tracked Norris to a home where he was holed up with his two children. After a short time, Norris was talked out and both children were rescued. Police say the gas was turned on in the home. Norris had minor injuries, was treated, then take to the Black Hawk County Jail where he’s held without bond.
