March 22, 2002 By admin

A northeastern Iowa man is headed to prison after a knife fight. A Postville man was convicted of attempted murder and willful injury charges Thursday for stabbing a member of the town’s orthodox Jewish community. Authorities say 42-year-old Roni Kachanes (kah-chon’-ez) stabbed 28-year-old Avraham Holtzberg during an altercation in December of 2000. Kachanes is held without bail and is due for sentencing April 9th in Allamakee County District Court.
