Chelsea offers free land

March 25, 2002 By admin

A Tama County town is trying to entice new residents by giving away land. Chelsea city leaders are offering three city lots to anyone who’ll build a home on them. The city had purchased seven acres of land and subdivided it into 15 lots with utilities. The city was flooded in 1993, and city leaders have been trying to grow the city since then. They are also offering lots for 75-hundred and 85-hundred dollars each. Chelsea leaders say the small town is close enough to larger cities for commuters.
