Former Iowan had hand in Oscar winner

A northeast Iowa native shares part of the credit after helping create the goblins, hobbits and elves of an Academy Award-winning movie.Former Delhi resident Jamie Pilgrim was the Creature Technical Director for the blockbuster “Lord of the Rings,” which won four Oscars last night for Best Cinematography, Makeup, Original Score and Visual Effects. The 27-year-old Pilgrim also worked on “The Matrix” as the lead animator and is helping animate the sequel to that film. He now lives in L-A.
