Guard gives you a chance to see how they work

March 25, 2002 By admin

Ever wonder what it’s like to drive a tank or go on night maneuvers? You can find out next month. The Iowa National Guard’s 113th Armored Calvary unit is offering you a chance to be a guardmember for a day April 6th. Sergeant Vincent Wilson says they’ll have tanks set up, and will also take people on reconnaissance missions. It’s designed as a recruiting tool to show people what the guard does. Wilson says if you aren’t really interested in joining the guard, that’s okay, because the event at Camp Dodge is also a way to give the guard more public exposure. For more information call Wilson at 515-252-4323 or call800-GO-GUARD.
