Russian man arrested for allegedly trying to get fake license

A Russian man is jailed in northwest Iowa’s Clay County for identity theft and other charges.The driver’s license bureau in Spencer reported a forgery in progress to police on Wednesday. Andrei Gondine reportedly was wearing the same clothes he had on when he got an I-D in Mason City on Tuesday, but using a different Social Security card, a different name and a different passport. Gonedine also allegedly got an I-D in Fort Dodge on Wednesday. He’s charged with identity theft and forgery. Questions remain about his identity. The I-N-S will also investigate.
