Latham announces run for new Fourth District

Iowa Congressman Tom Latham today formally announced his plans to run for a fifth term in the U-S House. The republican from Alexander says he’s accomplished much since he’s been in Washington, but there’s more to do.Latham is making stops today in: Marshalltown, Mason City, Decorah, Ames and Fort Dodge. He’s currently representing Iowa’s Fifth District but due to changes in the political map, he’s running for the redrawn Fourth District.Latham faces Marshalltown lawyer Gail Boliver in the republican primary. The winner of that race will face former Iowa Democrat Party chairman John Norris in the fall. Norris, of Ames, is also the former chief of staff to Governor Tom Vilsack and Congressman Leonard Boswell.
