Former deputy pleads guilty to crime

April 17, 2002 By admin

A former Linn County Sheriff’s deputy has pleaded guilty to charges in connection with a stolen utility trailer. 47-year-old Mark Sheeley was in Linn County District Court on Tuesday and accepted a plea on theft charges. Sheeley admitted having access to the trailer which he knew was stolen but had no intent of returning the trailer to its owner or to authorities. He got a two-year suspended prison sentence and a 500-dollar fine.
