Gas prices take short dip

April 17, 2002 By admin

Gas prices almost took an unpredicted dip this week, but not for long.If you blinked, you missed it. Despite predictions of steadily rising gas prices throughout this spring and summer, Iowa DNR fuel-price analyst David Downing says there was a brief dip in the cost.Crude-oil prices dropped Friday but regained all their loss and may rise by week’s end. Downing says many factors combine to cause buyers and dealers to bid more or less for crude oil. He says gasoline markets are “hopping around” and responding to news of an American refinery problem, and he thinks they’ll go up the next couple weeks.
