Vandalism creates concern in Lewis

April 18, 2002 By admin

Residents of one southwest Iowa town are concerned about a recent rash of vandalism.Authorities in Cass County are asking for the public’s help. The Cass County sheriff’s office says at least 39 tires were punctured Monday night in the town of Lewis, totaling more than three thousand dollars damage. At least a dozen people reported damaged property. Last month, tires were slashed on more than half-a-dozen vehicles. There will be a public meeting Saturday afternoon, at a cafe which has been vandalized twice itself in recent weeks. There have been no arrests.
