Dyersville weight program to become a national model

May 1, 2002 By admin

Millions of people could eventually shed pounds through a wellness program originally launched in northeastern Iowa. Federal health officials hope to use a Dyersville weight loss program as a model for a pilot project designed to improve Americans’ lives. The Department of Health and Human Services is interested in the town’s “Fight the Fat” wellness education program in which local residents lost up to a ton of weight over ten weeks.
