Alta councilman arrested for Minnesota bank robbery

May 2, 2002 By admin

A city councilman from northwest Iowa is being held by the F-B-I in Minnesota on bank robbery charges. 43-year-old Daniel Huseman of Alta is accused of holding up the Annandale State Bank in Clearwater, Minnesota, last Friday. The suspect wore a dust mask, cap and sunglasses, showed a handgun and demanded money. The suspect fled in a car with about 14-thousand-500 dollars. A sheriff’s deputy pursued and chased the car to St. Cloud, Minnesota, where the car rammed into a tree. A handgun, rifle and a 50-round clip of ammunition were found in the car. No shots were fired. Huseman’s been a city council member in Alta since 1994.
