This summer’s Iowa Games will feature three new sports. Executive director Jim Hallihan says water skiing; a cross-country race and ultimate Frisbee are the latest addition for the festival. He says early on, many people wanted to get their sports into the games. Now he says they’re pursing new sports.Hallihan says “ultimate Frisbee” is kind of like non-contact football and is a fast clean game.Hallihan says the additions bring the total number of sports to 44.Hallihan says their goal for this summer is to attract more than 17-thousand participants.The competition is July 12th through the 14th in Ames.
