A thief in northeast Iowa made off with several evergreen seedlings. Loren Hamilton, the chair of the Buchanan County Conservation Board, planted the trees on his farm near Independence for wildlife habitat. He had planted 15-hundred trees, and discovered 50 of them missing recently when he went to check on their progress. The seedlings are valued at only 20 dollars, but Hamilton says it’ll cost 150 bucks to replant the trees.
