UNI looks for conference baseball tourney bid in final games

The Northern Iowa baseball team prepares for its final Missouri Valley Conference series of the season this weekend at Bradley. The Panthers are currently seventh in the Valley standings. The top six teams make the conference post-season tournament. U-N-I coach Rick Heller says his team may need to run the table to have a chance. He says they’ve been playing well, but have lost some tight games late.Heller says his team has been fighting back from a slow start in conference play. He says you wouldn’t know by the stats that they’re in 7th place.Heller says early on the Panthers won the close games but that changed once conference play started.U-N-I is 10-18 in the Valley.
