Media gather in anticipation of accused mailbox bomber’s court appearance

May 10, 2002 By admin

Accused mailbox bomber Luke Helder is scheduled to appear in federal court in Cedar Rapids this afternoon. Linn County Sheriff Don Zeller will oversee Helder at the Linn County jail. Zeller says there’s a lot of media interest in the event. He says the news media is constantly calling and trying to be the first one to talk to Helder. There will be no live media coverage of Helder’s court appearance, as cameras and microphones are prohibited from federal courtrooms.
