Iowa Congressman Leonard Boswell is refusing to place blame for missed information that may’ve prevented the September 11th attacks. The White House acknowledges it received information about possible terrorist attacks prior to 9/11, causing some to be critical of the republican administration’s lack of action. A White House spokesman says there wasn’t enough information to take action. Boswell, a democrat and ranking member of the House Human Intelligence Committee, isn’t joining in the criticism.Boswell says he wasn’t there when the President was briefed on the issue, so Boswell says it’s better to concentrate on what we’ve learned from 9/11 and move ahead to make things better. Boswell says he can’t release all the details, but he says the House is proposing a significant increase in funding for the intelligence community in 2003. Boswell says he’s confident improvements in intelligence gathering and sharing have been made since 9/11 and is confident they will continue with the increase in funding.
