Weather stops softball regional in Iowa City

May 16, 2002 By admin

Weather has delayed the start of the N-C-A-A softball regional in Iowa City. The Iowa Hawkeyes first round game against Notre Dame has been moved back to a six o’clock start. The Hawks are coming off a disappointing outing in the Big Ten tournament last week and coach Gayle Blevins says they view this as a second chance. Blevins says it’s a matter of getting on a roll and playing moment-to-moment. Iowa beat Notre Dame in the regional final last year enroute to an appearance in the College World Series, so the two teams know each other well.
