State track meet underway for girls

The girls state high school track meet is underway in Drake Stadium. One of the few finals on day one is the distance medley relay. North Linn claimed the 1A title with freshman Ellen Ries running the anchor. Ries ran a sixty-second 400-meter leg to bring home the win. She says it was amazing, much better than running at the Drake Relays.North Linn is expected to challenge for the 1A team title and Ries hopes they can have success in other events.
