May 17, 2002 By admin

Two Waterloo high schools are getting new coaches. Rick Uthoff is leaving Oelwein to take over the ailing girls basketball ball program at Waterloo East. Uthoff was successful in building the Oelwein program the past five years, leading them to a 17-6 record last year. East finished the season at 1-20 last year. Waterloo Columbus has named Aundra Meeks as its new football coach. Meeks moves over from his position as basketball coach. The Sailors finished 1-8 last year.
