A north-central Iowa man faces a mandatory life prison term for murder. A Clarion man was convicted Thursday night of murdering an elderly Corwith man last November. Jason Hively was found guilty in the slaying of 75-year-old Dale Kelling. The Hardin County jury deliberated about four hours to reach the verdict. Hively admitted going to Kelling’s house to rob him, but says he didn’t kill him. A co-defendant was convicted in March, 19-year-old Craig Shelton of Goldfield. Hively will be sentenced June 24th.
