Many changes seen in RI/Coaches baseball poll

Week three saw a scramble among all four classes in the Radio Iowa/Coaches Association High School Baseball poll.Emmetsburg was the only top ranked team to stay on that perch, holding onto number one in the Class 2A poll. The next three teams also held, with Dyersville Beckman at number two, Eagle Grove three and Cascade at Four. Albia jumped up from ninth to fifth to round out the top five in 2A. Mason City Newman bumped Granville Spalding down to second as the Knights took over first place in the Class 1A poll. Lansing Kee moved up from fourth to third — followed by East Buchanan and Le Mars Gehlen rounding out the top five. Cedar Rapids Xavier took one step up to take over the top spot in Class 3A. Oelwein moves from fourth to second, Davenport Assumption is up two spots from fifth to third, followed by Denison and last week’s number one, Sioux City Heelan down to fifth. West Des Moines Valley shot from fifth to first in this week’s 4A poll. Dubuque Wahlert is up one spot to second. Council Bluffs Lewis-Central is in third — followed by last week’s number one, Iowa City High in fourth and Marshalltown in fifth, down from number two last week.
