Repair work continues following floods in Eastern Iowa

June 6, 2002 By admin

The repair work to flood damaged roads and bridges in eastern Iowa continues today. Delaware County Engineer Mark Nahra says crews have made good progress, but there is still plenty of work left. Most of the spots where water ran over the road have been graded, but he says motorists should be careful to not run over damaged portions of roadways. Nahra says a major county road near Hopkinton is still closed, but should be repaired by this weekend. He says there are probable 10 to 15 other roads or bridge sites that need work. Nahra says motorists should obey all signs in the flood-damaged areas.
