June 11, 2002 By admin

A strong storm system is rumbling across much of Iowa this morning, bringing heavy rain and high winds. Jeff Johnson, a forecaster at the National Weather Service, says we’ll soon see a break from the hot, muggy weather of the past several days. A cold front will move in and could create more thunderstorms this afternoon and evening.Fort Dodge had strong winds this morning while the Council Bluffs area got heavy rain. A severe thunderstorm watch is up for parts of northeast Iowa through 7 A-M and there are several flash flood watches in effect as well.
