Investigation continues in death of Cedar Rapids baby

June 19, 2002 By admin

Investigation continues into the death of a baby in Cedar Rapids. Police were called to an apartment on the city’s southwest side about 8:30 Tuesday morning. Officers found a three-week-old infant not moving and apparently not breathing. The child, identified as Emily Sue Adcock, was taken to a Cedar Rapids hospital where she was pronounced dead. Investigators didn’t see any signs of trauma, and an autopsy was ordered. The baby’s mother, 22-year-old Laura Adcock, was charged with possession of a controlled substance and released.
