Libertarian candidate wants to end state income tax

The Libertarian candidate for Governor says he’d get rid of the state income tax if he’s elected in November. Clyde Cleveland of Ottumwa says dropping the tax is the way to reinvigorate business development.Cleveland says Iowa loses business to states on our borders. He says they leave for South Dakota, which doesn’t have an income tax, and says they also go to Illinois where taxes are lower.Cleveland says he’ll pare back the state government enough that the income tax revenue won’t be needed. Cleveland made his comments during a stop in Sioux City.
