Storms sock Northern Iowa again

June 19, 2002 By admin

Strong thunderstorms are plaguing northern Iowa again today. The storm clouds, which dumped up to two inches of rain per hour, packed strong winds, too. Dan Clark, a clerk in the Butler County Auditor’s office, says the wind was blowing very, very hard at 9:30 this morning.Clark says it rained so hard, he couldn’t see out the windows of his office, and the hail ranged from pea-sized to big as marbles.Clark says the storm system seems to be moving very slowly. Folks in nearby Parkersburg reported hail the size of baseballs. The storm system is slowly moving east.
