Congressman pushes for millions for ISU

Iowa Congressman Tom Latham met this morning with the chairman of the House subcommittee that drafts the Defense budget, asking for money to support sonar research at Iowa State University.Latham’s also pushing for a couple of million dollars to support I-S-U research looking for new ways of inspecting military aircraft to find the tiniest of cracks.Latham says the crash of the plane fighting the fires in Colorado highlights the need for better detection of flaws in aircraft. Latham is running for reelection in the new fourth district, which includes Iowa State University.
