July 2, 2002 By admin

The concern over a terrorist attack on America’s birthday isn’t keeping people from hitting the roads.A spokesman for Triple-A of Iowa says Americans will travel this Fourth of July holiday, despite security concerns. Daron Van Helden says over 36-million Americans will take a trip this Fourth of July holiday. Van Helden says their predictions show air travel will be down four-and-a-half percent compared to a seven percent drop for Memorial Day. Van Helden says lower gas prices are good news for Iowa travelers. He says gas prices are down a nickel from last year’s average. Van Helden advises you to check the car out before hitting the road, as he says hot temperatures can cause problems if your car isn’t in good working order.Van Helden says the Triple-A predictions are based on a nationwide telephone survey.
