Marshalltown authorities seek identity of person in burned van

July 5, 2002 By admin

It’s still a mystery who died in a van fire in the Marshalltown area. The Tama County Sheriff says the body was found in the cab of a burned out van on Wednesday on Highway 30, just west of Toledo. The cause of the fire is under investigation. Witnesses are asked to come forward who may’ve seen the 1992 blue Mitsubishi van. An autopsy was done Wednesday but positive identification of the victim awaits a check of dental records.
