Man caught after jail escape

July 16, 2002 By admin

One of two men who escaped last night from the Cherokee County jail has been caught. Thirty-four-year-old James Ricker and 22-year-old Adam Mathison — both of Sioux City — slipped out of jail at about 10 o’clock Monday night. Authorities nabbed Mathison this morning — he was being held on a federal warrant, but Ricker is still at large. Ricker was behind bars on burglary charges. Ricker is white, with blue eyes and strawberry blonde hair. He was wearing the orange clothing issued to all jail inmates when he escaped.
