Snoozing man nearly hit by runaway truck

July 16, 2002 By admin

A Dubuque County man narrowly escaped injury Monday when a semi-truck crashed through the rural Dubuque home where he was sleeping. 19-year-old Michael Moser was reportedly asleep in the home of Tom and Pat Emmerson when the truck broke loose from a parked position, rolled 700 feet downhill, ran through the front of the house and landed in the basement. It missed Moser by a matter of ten feet. He climbed out a bedroom window.
