An eastern Iowa man walking along a rural road in Jackson County was struck and killed early Sunday in a hit-and-run. Twenty-four-year-old Scott Michael Althoff of Eldridge was pronounced dead at the scene, just west of LaMotte. Authorities say a “high-profile” vehicle hit Althoff — either a car that’s been “jacked up” or a mini-van or truck.
