Marshalltown slugs its way back to state

Second ranked Marshalltown is going back to the Class 4A state baseball tournament for the third straight season. Marshalltown downed Ames five to three in the substate final at Boone to advance. Jeff Clement pitched out of a jam in the seventh inning to get the win. Clement also extended his national career home run record to 73.
