Crash sends man to hospital in Fairfield

July 24, 2002 By admin

A man’s hospitalized in Fairfield after a big rig crashed into the utility truck that was holding him aloft. An Oklahoma man was hospitalized yesterday after being hit by a semi while doing utility work in Fairfield. Shortly before three Tuesday, Clarence Dalton Sheehert of Oklahoma-based CableCrafters Incorporated was in an aerial “cherry-picker” bucket extended from a truck parked in the alley, working on a line running over Highway 34. Sheehert went tumbling out of the bucket as it was knocked into a tree by the passing semi. He was treated at a local hospital. The driver of the Hy-Vee truck, 30-year-old Richard Sloan of Lineville, wasn’t hurt in the accident. It’s unknown if Sloan will be charged in the crash.
