Iowans not snapping up bargain air fares

July 24, 2002 By admin

The prices of plane tickets are plummeting but few people in the Hawkeye State are buying them.Travel agent Sharon Brown says Iowans aren’t snapping up the bargain tickets for several reasons — including financial worries on Wall Street. She also says there’s been little publicity about the airfare wars and some people won’t fly because of lingering memories of September 11th. Brown says Iowans could get some cheap flights if they book soon. Brown says tickets to many destinations that were running five-and-six-hundred dollars round-trip a few weeks ago are now as low as 240-dollars. She says inexpensive destinations from Iowa right now include: Orlando, Seattle, New York and Las Vegas.
