Congressman says vote to expel Traficant wasn’t easy

July 25, 2002 By admin

Iowa Congressman Leonard Boswell says it was not easy voting last night to oust Ohio Congressman James Traficant, a fellow democrat, for unethical conduct. Boswell says any time you expel someone, even with clear and convincing evidence, it’s hard. Boswell says he has no doubt the evidence justified booting Traficant. He says it had to be done and the overwhelming vote proved that.Iowa’s four other congressmen joined Boswell in voting to remove Traficant.
